RIBBON DESK
The ribbon desk is a strong visual statement that incorporates elements that serve both visually and as storage. The tiered shelving serves to maximize workspace and the ribs allow for large sheet storage between them.
PROCESS
Above are several examples of aesthetic study sketches for the desk shape. To create the large curves the design evolved into a rib structure is attached by tensioned rods and can be fully disassembled. The ribs were cut via CNC and assembled by hand. An inset tabletop provides a large work surface that is wrapped in soft leather.
